In Ancient times, Tu BiSh’vat marked the beginning of the agricultural cycle, hence it became known as the Birthday of the Trees. In the Middle Ages, the Kabbalists assigned the fruits of Israel symbolic meanings, creating Tu BiSh'vat seders. In modern times, Tu BiSh'vat has become an opportunity to reaffirm the Jewish commitment to cherish and protect our beautiful world.

Join Rabbis Saxe, Stein and members of the TRS Sustainability Initiative for an updated version of the Tu BiSh'vat Seder followed by a festive vegetarian potluck. The event is geared toward adults and coincides with a Netivot Tu BiSh'vat celebration for kids 7th grade and older.
