Temple Rodef Shalom will host a Havdalah Gathering for Israel in collaboration with the Jewish Community Relations Council, the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the Pozez JCC, Gesher Jewish Day School, and some of our Northern Virginia congregational neighbors including Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation, Olam Tikvah Congregation, Agudas Achim Congregation, Kol Ami Congregation, Temple B’nai Shalom and Etz Hayim Congregation.
We will begin with a Havdalah Service in our sanctuary with singing and remembrances to promote healing and resilience. Speakers will include Dean Bagdadi, JCC-JAFI Shaliach (Israeli Emissary) and representatives from the organizations facilitating relief efforts on the ground in Israel listed below.

After our service, we will gather for light refreshments. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with Jewish organizations who are leading humanitarian efforts on the ground in Israel and internationally.

Organizations which will be represented include:

United Hatzalah: a rapid response emergency medical service of volunteers serving civilians and soldiers alike. Learn more.
Friends of the IDF: (Mid-Atlantic region), providing hygiene kits for IDF soldiers and raising funds for field hospitals and bullet-proof ambulances. Learn more.
New Israel Fund: established an Emergency Safety Net fund to assist the most vulnerable and affect, prevent intercommunal violence, provide trauma counseling and more. Learn more.
