ReelAbilities Film Festival Screening and Discussion February 2025

ReelAbilities Film Festival Screening & Discussion

Sunday, February 9, 2025
3:00 - 5:00 PM

As part of the 12th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: Greater Washington, Temple Rodef Shalom is hosting a screening of "Facing the Falls,” a short documentary executive produced by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. In the film, international disability advocate Cara Elizabeth Yar Khan, who is deep in the throes of an aggressive, fatal muscle-wasting disease and no longer able to walk unassisted, embarks on a daring, 12-day expedition through the Grand Canyon. “Facing the Falls” is a story of fear, adrenaline, ambition, determination, hubris, courage, and perseverance against the odds.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A about the topics the film addresses, including risk taking and adaptive athletics. Light refreshments will be served following the panel discussion.

This free event is open to TRS members and non-members.
