Tutoring
Bar/Bat/B’nai Mitzvah students are assigned tutors at 11 months prior to their ceremony date. They are matched using the Tutor Preference Form families complete at the introductory B’nai Mitzvah Workshop.
After the tutor is assigned, they will contact the family for an initial assessment to determine when the student should begin tutoring. Tutoring can then begin at any time, but no later than 8 months prior to the service for morning services and 7 months prior to the service for Mincha services. Students typically meet with their tutors for 45-minute sessions two times a month.
Tutoring is billed to your ShulCloud account monthly, based on the exact number of sessions your child has with their tutor that month. Generally, students tutor between 18 and 20 sessions.
Tutors are employees of Temple Rodef Shalom and are paid directly by the Temple. Tutors undergo background checks. Tutors tutor at Temple Rodef Shalom or at their home. Tutors do not come to individual student’s homes.
